Scale Computing Relocates VP of Marketing and Business Development
Marketing veteran Peter Fuller brings go-to-market strategy and extensive business development experience
INDIANAPOLIS (July 8, 2009) — Scale Computing, a developer and manufacturer of ICS™ scalable storage architecture, announces that its Vice President of Marketing and Business Development will relocate here this month. With over 16 years of go-to-market experience in several industries, Fuller will relocate from California to Scale’s headquarters in Indianapolis and will be responsible for leading the company’s go-to-market strategy and business development.
“I’ve worked with Peter for years and know what a tremendous asset he is,” said Jeff Ready, founder and CEO, Scale Computing. “We are excited to add him to the Scale team. His marketing expertise and startup experience, combined with his customer-centric attitude, will certainly position Scale Computing for continued growth and success in the storage space.”
Fuller has years of experience in several industries ranging from consumer marketing to security hardware to mobile technologies. He is also a contributor to three patent-pending technologies. Prior to Scale, Fuller helped launch two industry associations, founded two companies, raised Series A capital, and was involved with two successful acquisitions. He has aided in the market launch of nearly a dozen startups backed by several of Silicon Valley’s top venture capital firms, and helped divisions of ESPN, Sony Entertainment, and Quantum Corporation with their go-to-market and public relations strategies. He spent five years in Indianapolis before moving to California ten years ago, working at Macmillan Computer Publishing and the Indianapolis Star and News as a freelance writer.
“I am thrilled to build Scale Computing’s marketing and business development teams in Indianapolis,” said Fuller, who plans to make the city his base for domestic and international market expansion. “The city’s tremendous talent pool and geographic position make it an excellent place to grow a technology business. The IEDC’s partnership with local investors was a smart move.”
Scale Computing recently relocated its headquarters and begin building its operations in Indiana with the help of a $5 million public-private funding deal, $2 million of which came from the IEDC’s 21st Century fund. Their enterprise storage solution, ICS, allows users to add storage hardware, known as storage nodes, as necessary without suspending services or migrating data. By combining commodity hardware with a clustered file system commonly found only in the world’s largest supercomputers, a Scale storage cluster grows seamlessly while significantly reducing costs compared to traditional enterprise storage solutions.
